Lefty Bloggers Planning Riots if Obama Loses: Are You ready?

Posted in Getting Prepared, Intel by Rob Taylor on October 21st, 2008

The main lefty is David Swanson, a man who has been on the fringe of nutrootery for some time so his call for action would by itself be laughable, but it looks like he’s actually just parroting the general feeling among Obama supporters. More importantly Swanson spent at least three years working as a communication coordinator for ACRON, so he may still hold some sway over an organization already known for gangster tactics.

From The Smirking Chimp:

If your television declares John McCain the president elect on the evening of November 4th, your television will be lying. You should immediately pick up your pre-packed bags and head straight to the White House in Washington, D.C., which we will surround and shut down until this attempt at a third illegitimate presidency is reversed.

[...]

If Obama officially wins, McCain is likely to challenge it, charging the Obama campaign with some of the very crimes engaged in by McCain himself. Our reaction should be exactly the same in the event of a McCain challenge as in the event of a McCain “victory.” We should not sit back for even a split second and wonder how it will work out. We should not try to organize a plan on the spur of the moment to travel to key battleground states. We should be prepared already to immediately travel to Washington, D.C., head straight for the White House, occupy Lafayette Square Park, the Ellipse, and surrounding streets, block entrances, and shut the place down until Obama is recognized as the president elect or we are guaranteed a credible election with universal registration and hand-counted paper ballots.

We may be there for days or weeks or months. But we must be there. We must be there by the millions. We must show each other, and the nation, and the world that we have had enough, that we will not stand for one more stolen election, that we will not give in to fear, lies, theft, and intimidation. If they choose to attack our nonviolent gathering of citizens, let them do it right in front of George W. Bush’s White House with the world’s media watching. We will not back down.

In other words, no matter who wins Swanson wants to initiate the kind of civil unrest that would leave the country in chaos. Again, Swanson may not hold sway over many (though he has a following) but in this case I think he’s simply got his finger on the pulse of the most radical of the left.

Politics aside, are you ready for a couple of weeks of civil unrest? Can you hole up in your house for an extended period of time? If it isn’t safe do you have a plan to bug out?

It pains me as an American ot say this but in the two weeks before this election you need to prepare for Rodney King Verdict level riots whether obama wins or not.

If you haven’t you need to get together enough supplies to be able to stay off the streets for at least a couple of week. If you live in a big city you may want to make arrangements to either being out of the city around then or have a plan in place that will get you out of harms way, without getting stuck on the highways.

I’m personally “bugging in” and the wife and I have about 2 months of food on hand at any given time. I’ve purchased extra ammunition and we have everything we need to stay in the house for weeks if need be. Make a list and put together your supplies now. Here’s some things that you may want during civil unrest or political instability in addition to the food, water and medical supplies you’ve hopefully put away.

  • Fire Extinguishers-dont’ skimp either. "Activists" have been becoming more violent and Molotov cocktails are going to be the most common weapon you run into in a politically driven riot. Emergency services will be working overtime in a real riot, so be prepared to put out any fires started yourself.
  • Dust Mask/Safety Goggles-The RNC protesters nearly blinded an octogenarian by throwing chemicals in his eyes, and the people who will be rioting are coming from the same pool. i expect bleach/drain cleaner/urine to be thrown around with reckless abandon. Add some latex gloves in to clean up the chemicals that get thrown on your car.
  • Clean Clothes-If America’s political fault line cracks plan on not going to the laundromat for awhile, and there may be disruptions in electricity or water service in a worst case scenario, leaving that washer/dryer combo useless. I’ll have all my clothes clean and ready come election night.
  • Plywood/Tools-November will be a bad month to have a window broken, and if there is civil unrest of the scale Swanson is planning you’ll be waiting a while to get them prepared. Be ready to make any small repairs around the house yourself, keep your power tools charged and invest in a set of manual tools in case power is out for an extended period.

These are just a few things on top of the usual preparations you should have already taken. I cannot reiterate enough the need for you to be able to live off the supplies in your house for at least a month and for every family to have an emergency plan.

If Swanson and company get their wish and “shut the country down” you will be on your own, are you ready for that? If not, then you have a lot of work ahead of you.

If the polls continue to have Obama up by 10 points even up to the day of the election and then the polls close down and McCain is declared the victor I support general civil disobedience.

You may not agree, but I, and millions of others, feel as though the past two elections were stolen. Do you support states rights? How about Bush v. Gore, 531 US 98 (2000)? On the November 2, 2004 I went to bed and Kerry was ahead (I can’t stand the man) and the next morning they said Bush had won, even contrary to many exit polls. Millions were disenfranchised. There were irregularities in many states.

Imagine if you thought the presidential election was stolen. What would you do?

BTW I don’t like Obama. I’m not voting for him. As for McCain I don’t see how anyone that can digest facts and analyze the evidence could possibly vote for him. He’s unbalanced and makes bad decisions. He’s supported the policies that brought us to the edge of a financial cliff. He also supports open borders and is anti-veteran.

I’m a third party guy, as a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil.

You do realize that polls are skewed to more heavily sample Democrats don’t you?

But that aside, Polls are never accurate because they sample a very discrete group, people who participate in polls. deciding that because Kerry was ahead in the polls he should have been President is like predicting how many people will show up at a concert based on an AOL poll of people’s favorite band.

Polling is a waste of time. I worked as a kid in a telemarketing office where we wanted people to take surveys. Only unemployed drug addicts would waste their time answering the 30 questions so the survey results were bogus. Polling is the same.

I don’t believe Bush “stole” the elections then again I’m a Republican. But if this election is stolen, by Obama since it’s groups allied with him that are clearly breaking the law, I’m rioting.

By rioting I mean stocking up my house for the coming 40 years of President for life Obama.

    Sorry about the double post.

That’s what I mean about a disconnection from reality, even in the face of evidence Republicans can say that, ‘polls are skewed towards Democrats’ or only dopers answer polls.

    http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2008/national-polls.html

If this is what the polls look like on 11/4 and we wake up on 11/5 and they say McCain has won then every patriotic American should take to the streets. I don’t support Obama. I’m not voting for him. If the Republicans steal another election then anyone who cares about our country should take to the streets.

Had we done this in 2000 and 2004 we wouldn’t be going into the crapper the way we are now.

Make no mistake about George Bush and his Republican supporters (look in the mirror?) have done more to socialize this country than Obama could dream about. Why it’s been a $2.5 trillion bailout of the million dollar bonus boys in just the past two months.

That’s a future tax on you and your kids.

Don’t get me started on the Bush and Republican assault on civil liberties.

Hi–I guess I’m one of the Drug addicts–since I answered many polls–I’m wondering why a committed republican would not want to be counted? Think all republicans hung up on poll calls? It’s a pain but I took the time to answer and have voted already, have you?

My point is that most people in general don’t answer surveys/polls/etc. Look, Kerry was ahead in ‘04 and where’d that get him?

Jeff, you do know the bailout was put together by a Democratic legislature right? And the the subprime mortgage market was created by the Democrats community reinvestment act? You know that the Dems funded ACORN who literally made death threats against lenders who weren’t making risky loans?

But whatever, look, if you think Bush has done something to civil liberties just wait for Obama. For near ten years well off White douches (no offense) got to pretend they were oppressed by “the man” but guess what? You are about to see real oppression. A Democrat run civilian security force as well armed as the military, the Fairness Doctrine extended to websites, taxes designed specifically to keep your children from inheriting your wealth and if you think draconian gun control measures are off the table then you may of forgotten Clinton’s militarized ATF setting hippies on fire and kidnapping Cuban refugees at Castro’s behest.

But enjoy yourselves, keep pretending you live in Nazi Germany and you’re the resistance. Let me know how that works out for you in 09 when some newly formed security force is empowered by Obama to kick in your door and confiscate your guns. The fact is I can personally guarantee that in two years you’ll be begging for Republicans to take back seats and reign in the Demcong, but by then it’ll be too late kids.

Have fun in the work camps.
